Artist Roster > Tete De La Course

Jonathan Alvarez, known as Tête de la Course, didn't just study house music; he absorbed it at the source. His sound is rooted in the formative days of the New York underground, an education found on the city’s most sacred dancefloors during an era when the music was defined by its spiritual and physical weight. This early immersion allowed him to develop a sophisticated understanding of dancefloor dynamics, a trait that remains the bedrock of his technical identity.

From the technical mentorship of Joeski — which birthed their Defected hit "The Preacher Man" — to the profound influence of attending David Mancuso’s The Loft, Jonathan’s path has been one of deep listening and apprenticeship. Now settled in Barcelona, he operates as a "keeper of the light", rejecting the industry’s pressure for constant output in favor of intentional, high-caliber releases. Whether he’s hitting top charts on Traxsource or curating the vinyl-only vision of his label Poetry in Motion, he remains a vital link between the classic NYC ethos and the modern European deep house movement.
